Happy Chinese New Year

The Perkins and Friends Chinese New Year Celebration

It has been so long since my last post. I am going to try and at least post once a week - try being the key word. For the Chinese New Year we went to celebrate in another town with my other Chinese child. This last year, as I yearned to adopt again, the Lord brought a very special young woman into our lives, Kari. Kari lived with us after completing her masters while she looked for a job. Kari is from the Henen Province in China and has lived in the states for about 3 years. She moved to another town the beginning of fall ~ we miss her, but she is close enough to visit. How great that God put her in our lives. It was not time for us to adopt, but He knew my heart and my desire. This time the relationship was not strainned by emotional challenges ~ it instead a sweet friendship and a time of learning for both of us. Kari has taught me so much about the culture of China and she was able to be a part of a large family.

Kari and Grant

Can you believe he is turning into a little boy. He was such a baby when we met him in China and look at him now! Grant is sweet and passionate about the things he loves like star wars and candy. He is full of life and love and keeps everyone on their toes.

Ashley,
I have been wondering how your family has been doing. I'm glad to see you posting again. Grant looks so much bigger than he did a year ago. Isn't it amazing how much they grow the first year. Our Robert (he finally decided he didn't want to be called Dan Dan anymore) is such a big boy now. Hard to believe that it was only a little over a year ago that we were in China with our new babies.
Blessings to your family.
